After the non-performance in Ireland, Jayne returned via Shannon Airport to an already cancelled set of dates. She had been booked for a week’s worth of shows at the Liverpool Empire, beginning on April 24th. Billed as “Hollywood’s most exciting star” Jayne was due to appear twice nightly with shows at 6.20 and 8.35.

However, for reasons unknown the Liverpool Empire announced via the press on April 8th that they would be closed during the week that Jayne was due to perform. A spokesman for the theatre was quoted as saying:

“There is no question of a replacement. The fact is that we will just not be open that week”.

It is unclear whether Jayne received her fee for these dates. Nevertheless she already had a week’s worth of rescheduled dates awaiting at the Webbington Country Club in the south-west of England.
